Friends, I’m thrilled you’re joining me for this series! My very first thoughts in this journey have me thinking of the 1965 song, What the World Needs Now {is love, sweet love}.
What the world needs right now is a whole lotta forgiveness. Honest-to-goodness godly forgiveness.
Not the fluffy stuff.
But the hard stuff.
Stuff made up of seeds of anger and bitter roots.
Over the next 31 days we’re going to dig into the hard stuff until we’ve unearthed and bared the deepest part of our soul.
But before we can go any further, in order to soften our hearts and minds, let’s start this journey with prayer asking God to work mightily in our lives. You can use the following prayer, or use your own.
Father,
I open my heart to You. I’m fully committed to emptying my heart of any anger, bitterness, or unforgiveness residing there. Lord, soften and purify my heart through this journey and show me where I’m holding on to any resentments. Help me surrender and give it all to you. I admit I can no longer hold on to the pain, help me release it to you.
Lord, help me to walk in love and in peace. Help me to love others as you love them. Help me to forgive as you forgave.
Thank you Father for hearing my prayer and knowing my heart.
In Your loving name I pray,

Prayer, prayer, prayer…..It works, works works! I’ve recently gone through some challenges and God continually sends me messages, some through people and some through the Holy Spirit. And it’s ALWAYS when I need it ANd I’ve learned it is in HIS time…….not mine. And so it is, that HE has led me to you. I look forward to your posts and remarks by others. Oh, that is beautiful….and so hard. Not long ago I went through a very painful thing and had to learn forgiveness the hard way (not that there is ever an easy way). I look forward to reading your thoughts!
