mother’s day {a gift idea}

So here’s the deal … Taylor’s been asking to go visit some of the friends we made in the Bahamas.  After much thought and prayer, I decided to let her go and gave her the itinerary as a recent birthday gift.

Problem?  It seems I’m lacking complete control over my calendar these days … including just staying organized and on top of who has what at what time and where they need to be.

Example?  Last Friday, I picked Taylor up from school and we decided to stop by
Panera for some soup.  We had a great time together and
were on our way home when she gets a text.  “I had tutoring tonight,” she says.

D’oh.  Yes.  Yes you did.  “Can you ask her to wait,
we’re just 10 minutes away?”  Yep.  She’ll wait.  No problem.

So we carry on with our talking and laughing and what-not.
Pull into the driveway and I see a strange car.  “Who’s here?” I ask Taylor.

D’oh.  Your tutor.

Alrighty then.  My point?

I completely didn’t realize Taylor would be gone for Mother’s Day.  And that makes me sad.  She’s been with me everyday for the last 14 Mother’s Day.  This will be the first.  Without her.  And it saddens me.

I didn’t have time to dwell too long on it though, because I quickly realized she’d be with another mother and that mother needed a Mother’s Day gift.  And … I like giving gifts.

What to give?  Wasn’t sure.

Then … I found this link from the ever-so-lovely Suann over at simplesong design and decided to make it my own!

    I’m going to Michael’s tomorrow during my lunch break to make something along those lines for my mom. Thanks for the inspiration! ♥

    Seriously, you need to open a store and sell some of your amazingly creative things. First the birthday present, now this. You are full of inspiration and everything turns out fabulous!

    Okay, I am seeing that font on your tags all over the web now and I am so in love with it. Can you tell me what it is called? (The one you used for the words like “sweet” and “relax”.) Thank you!!
