my girls in bronze

Do you remember this and this?  {I used the links to my old site, because the posts on this site made the font and viewing not so fun!}

When we got home from our spring break vacation, these were waiting for me in the yard!  If you look closely below, my office is on the left side of the photo … CJ had this pond put in specifically for these sculptures and for me to be able to see them right outside my office window!

In one of the links above, there’s a photo collage with a pencil drawing {draft} of these sculptures that CJ had commissioned for me.

These are the actual sculptures that now sit outside my window.  There are even spot lights to illuminate them at night!  They’re beautiful!

I’ve always, always, always wanted a sculpture of my children.  I’m a total sap for the Lladro figurines, and really anything that portrays a beautiful connection … especially with children or mother & children.

My love of bronze sculptures started in Aspen.  There are little shops scattered around Aspen that sell bronze figures.  I can almost feel the cold night and smell the wood fires remembering how we’d walk around and window shop.  I just always thought it would be so cool to have something commissioned.

So for my 40th birthday, when CJ unveiled the pencil drawing of the girls … I just about died!

How blessed am I?  And how many points has CJ racked up for this?  :)
