national stationery show {day two}

The dynamics of the show this year are different.  Very different.  And it’s so interesting to hear comments and talk to different designers for their reactions.

The actual show size is smaller this year.  I’d say 1/4 smaller than last year.  Yesterday, we walked over half the show before lunch time.  In years past, we’d get through 4 or 5 aisles by lunch?

We went back today and finished the rest of it within an hour!  Crazy.

I honestly think … granted, this is after honing my process over the last 8 years … that we could’ve done the show {including buying} in one day.  Again, crazy!

Enough of that … on to the inspiration!

I love Tianyi, creator of Tiselle!  First of all, she’s cute as a button and super friendly … but look at these fabulous designs!  Who doesn’t love a card that says “domo arigato?”  And don’t you love the little get well egg?  Along with her great designs, she’s got a great story!

And then there’s enormous champion … beeeautiful!!

They’ve got a great line of letterpress cards, but this year have introduced wooden cutout animals.  They were out as part of their display last year.  With everyone asking if they’re available to purchase, they decided to grant a few wishes … so after 8 months of painstaking production … they’re finally available for purchase!  And their beeautiful!!

The squirrels and moose are my favorites!  And the packaging offers inspiration all it’s own!

Last, but not least for this post is Give Studio.  Can I just say … could Anne & Brian be any sweeter?  This is another company I had recently brought into the store.  They sent me a sample packet and I immediately fell in love.  Beautiful letterpress, great design, warm colors … what’s not to love?  The first few products I brought in flew out the door.

They have the cutest booth at the show … love the vintage suitcase!  This is their first show and not knowing what to expect, Anne read it correctly when she said she thought there’d be a large amount of visual stimulation … so decided to go with soft colors and an organic feel … great job Anne, your booth looks great!

Thanks guys for your warm welcome, well wishes … and for being so sweet!
