the dark … before the morning

I mentioned yesterday I’m going through a bit of ugly right now.  And while that’s true … I believe with everything inside of me that it’s for God’s greater glory.  I believe He has prepared me for such a time as this, and I continue to trust and to rest in His loving arms.

A friend sent me this song as encouragement this morning … and she followed it up with this note:

“I just want to make sure that when you wake every morning this week,
the first thing in your head is encouragement from our Lord Jesus Christ.
I commit to be that vessel to deliver that encouragement to you.
His mercies are new every morning and His love never fails us.
Press on and fight the good fight dear child of God!”

I am forever grateful for the body of Christ.  I look around me and know. just know. that I’m being covered in prayer.  There is no greater weapon than the power of prayer.  Ugly is ugly.  But I declare here and now … the enemy will not win this battle.  This battle will find my Savior victorious.  That victory may not be what my earthly heart would like.  But as I mentioned yesterday … I’m clinging to the things of Eternity!

This? this ugly I’m facing … it’s nothing but the dark before the morning!

I pray this message encourages you today as much as it’s encouraged me …

Before the Morning
:: Josh Wilson ::

Do you wonder why you have to
Feel the things that hurt you?
If there’s a God who loves you
Where is He now?

Or maybe there are things you can’t see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending
Someday, somehow you’ll see, you’ll see

:: chorus ::
Would you dare, would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing?
‘Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming

So hold on, you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
‘Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

My friend, you know how this all ends
And you know where you’re going
You just don’t know how you’ll get there
So say a prayer

And hold on
‘Cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time, but you’ll see the bigger picture

:: chorus ::

Yeah, yeah, before the morning

Yeah, yeah

Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory
Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory, memory, memory, yeah

:: chorus ::

Come on, you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
‘Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the hurt before the healing

Oh, the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
Yeah, yeah, before the morning
Yeah, yeah, before the morning

    ok. this is just TOO weird. I JUST googled the lyrics to this song this MORNING! and wrote some of them in an email to my friend! Can you believe that? How many times has this happened? It can only mean one thing….we were meant to be BFF’s. ;) I’m not kidding you when I say I did it like 3 hours ago……I love this song. I think it’s safe to say that I love any song you love and vice versa. And, I’m praying for you friend. I know the ugly and I hope that it’s all “pretty” soon. xoxo, cat

    “But life is not a snapshot

    Praying, continually.

    I just loved reading my old comment above to this post. I had forgotten about me emailing these lyrics to a friend that was hurting. What an awesome thing that it came back to me this morning! Wow. God is good. And, I also think it’s so cool that in your post above you say that His mercies are new every morning because I JUST wrote that in my post this morning. :) Love you! Don’t know what I’d do without you.
