I just had a great conversation with a new friend … we both had chill bumps and a few revelations that I want to share with y’all.
The question posed to us was this, “If God already has it all planned out, why bother?” You know … why bother having faith, praying, trusting. If the plan is mapped out, what can we do to add or change that plan?
I’m sure there are many thoughts on the subject and even a few scholars that have a more profound point-of-view.
But let’s settle on mine today …
My first impulse answer is, “why not?!” But for the sake of this post … let’s go a little deeper than that. :)
We may not be able to change our inevitable plan, but we do have every control over the way we react to that plan. Have you seen people that are a wreck over certain situations in their lives? Anxious, worrying, stressed … out of control even. They’re leaning on their own understanding.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:5-6 {NLT}
If you don’t take an active role in your own faith journey, in your own life path … how are you going to grow? Don’t you want to grow stronger in this life? Standing tall? Or would you rather walk through life anxious, worrying, and fearful? When you have faith and seek God’s face and guidance through life’s journey, He’ll surround you in His peace and strength.
It’s His promise. And I choose happy. I choose faith.
