a birthday party … willy wonka style!

Well … my Piper turned 9 last week and to start off her last year as a single digit … we did it up real good with a Willy Wonka themed party!

To set the tone and start some excitement over our shindig, I enlisted the help of uber-designer and friend-extraordinaire Nellie!  To say I was blown away by the invite she designed would be an understatement!

Next up … party details!  Because I was supposed to be traveling to Africa, returning just a week before the party … we started setting up and planning the party at the beginning of February.  You can imagine the excitement of three little girls watching everything come together!

Soooo … without further adieu … I present you with some delicious eye-candy!

Fun, no?

And … no party is complete without games!  Messy candy games that is!

  • get the whipped cream off the candy
  • bubble gum blowing contest
  • augustus gloop relay
  • taffy pull
  • musical chairs
  • gobstopper throw {not pictured}

    Tracie, my first thought was WOW. Growing up with the original WW movie, this really puts a huge smile on my face. I wish I could have just a pinch of yours and Nellie’s talent. Truly awesome party! I am sure Piper and her friends will remember this party for a lifetime.

    Omgosh Tracie! You once again have outdone yourself. Your girls are so incredibly lucky to have such a creative + loving mom. And their friends? They must think you guys are the best buds ever! I think as a child I would have thought I’d died and gone to heaven to be invited to a party like that. Scratch that, I STILL would feel that way. haha

    I am doing a Wonka theme party for my munchkin Laci on March 31, 2011. I was wondering if you had already sold the decorations that you had used or if you were interested in selling them if you still had them. Let me know as I would be more than happy to take them off of your hands for the right price.
