Guess who’s birthday?
And was it wrong to take the girls to Walgreen’s to get his gifts? Seriously.
He’s impossible to buy for! The last couple of years, I’ve given him paintings of one of the girls and myself {the first year was Wynter, the second year was Piper}. But this year … nothing. Plus, I’d been traveling and suddenly on my {very delayed} flight home, I realized I had nothing planned for his birthday. He’s totally the guy that doesn’t want any gifts … doesn’t want anything planned. But that doesn’t sit so well with me. Also, I think it’s important that the girls learn the gift of giving and celebrating.
I got home around 5:30 last night, and off we went to Walgreen’s. Anyone that knows CJ, knows he loves his candy! His girls know him well and all picked out candy. Except Hunter, who picked out a large, felt covered rose. Hmm …
After we opened gifts this morning … it was off to big day at school. It was Hunter’s trial day at her new school {where she’ll be attending in the fall}. Just a half day and she loved it. Wynter was a great big sister and helped her out the whole time. When I came to pick her up, Hunter was crying she didn’t want to leave and Wynter was crying that she wanted to come home. Can’t win, can we?
Hunter will be in the same class next year that both Piper and Wynter were in. I love that …
Then after school, we headed to Jose’s for a birthday dinner. In case you’re counting kids in the photos … we had Wynter’s best buddy along for the celebration.
Okay … and do you know my husband? Cuz if you do, you know he was NOT happy when he heard the maracca’s coming and the waiters singing! Ooo, but what’s this I see? A smile? Maybe he liked it a little bit after all! ;)
After dinner, it was time for home and cake!
And I needed to include this shot of Piper. It was her first ‘big girl’ phone call and absolutely precious to watch and listen to! Oh the joy that awaits me, huh?
