emilee rose 2010 calendar

Oh how I love emilee rose!  And after reading this post, I’m certain you will too!

Emily used to work at the store with me.  She moved to Milwaukee {from Texas} to attend school at MIAD and started with us as a part-time sales associate.  By the time she’d graduated, I talked her into staying with us as a full-time employee managing our back-end web sales.

In the process, she had created and started her very own line of stationery … emilee rose!  I was SO incredibly proud of her!  I mean, seriously? how talented is she?

When I decided to sell the store, Emily decided to move back to Texas to spend more time focused on building her stationery line.  We’ve kept in touch, and I continue to be proud of the work she’s doing!

Anyway.

When we were in the process of adding on the girls room last year, I commissioned emilee rose to do an illustration for each of my girls {well, minus miss teenager}.  She asked about their interests, color scheme, etc. and here’s what she came up with …

Piper LOVES our mini dachshund, Pebbles!  Sleeps with him every night, cuddles with him on the couch and spends mucho time playing fetch with him.

Then when it came to Wynter, we were a little stumped with how to portray her, or what interests we should capture on her illustration.  After talking, we decided “drama” would best capture Wynt.  And if you know her, you know it was a perfect conclusion for her!

Look at the image of her in the mirror!

And lastly, little “broken wing” {as we’re calling her recently} … Hunter.  Hunter loves, loves her little Sophie giraffe!  In fact, she still comes across it now and then and screams, “Sophie!”

If you look closely, you can see the care given to every small detail … an unexpected and super awesome detail, is the use of the first letter of their names in each of the drawings.

I can’t begin to tell you how special these illustrations are to me!  They depict each of my girls so perfectly … an heirloom really.  Thank you Emily!!

When first talking to Emily about designing them, I had the perfect place in mind to hang them in their new room.

If you weren’t following my blog back in the day {well, like a year ago}, we decided to add on to our house and build one room to house all three girls.  I never did a final post with photos.  For some reason, it totally stresses me out because there’s no way images would do the room justice!  Sigh … someday.

Anyway, here are a couple photos I took last year in an attempt to post about it.

Each girl has their own closet, and above the closet is an alcove for their illustration.

Do you love it?

Alright.

The real reason for my post!  Emily has designed a 2010 calendar and I couldn’t wait to share it with y’all!  {that’s Texan}.  :)

Here’s a sneak peek at some images … I love it already!  It’s a paper doll calendar!!  Did I mention, emilee rose also designs custom, handmade paper dolls {ahem … hello Christmas gift!}.

Anyway.  The calendar should be available any day now … keep an eye out for it in her Etsy shop.  Or keep posted on her blog.

Thanks y’all!  ;)

Emily is absolutely talented. I love the simplicity in her drawings, but yet she finds a way to weave simple details into them. Love it. Those drawings are priceless! My husband graduated from MIAD – they put out some quality grads there! :)
