faith in an unshakeable god …

“Faith is not believing in my own unshakable belief.
It is believing an unshakable God when
everything in me trembles and quakes.”
:: Beth Moore ::

Is your faith strongest when you’re on the mountain top?  Or when you’re in the valley?

I’m the first to admit that a Sunday morning faith can seem like enough … when I’m sittin’ pretty on the top of that mountain.  Life is good, I’m feeling blessed, no trouble in sight.

When just like that … I find myself standing … no, scratch that … lying flat on my back in the middle of a valley.  Then what?  Will my Sunday morning faith sustain me when I feel like my world is going to end?

I don’t think so.  In fact, I know it won’t.

Let’s look at Beth’s quote again:

“Faith is not believing in my own unshakable belief.
It is believing an unshakable God when
everything in me trembles and quakes.”

The world around us will tremble and quake, that’s a given … that’s a constant.  But our God is bigger.  Our God is solid rock … unshakable, even in the biggest of quakes.

If we can live our faith as though we’re always on that mountaintop, when life’s storms and quakes find us in the valley … I know {without a doubt} that our God will be holding us tight.

That’s faith you can take to the bank my friends! ;)

So so true. I was just reading some of “The Voice of the Martyrs” and became burdened for the American church. “Sunday morning faith” definitely won’t take us down that narrow path. I want the faith that stands firm — even through the fires — because my eyes are stayed on my unshakable God. (Gettin’ a little fired up over here.)

I have recently started a website, the information you provide on this web site has helped me greatly. Thanks for all of your time & work. “The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.” by Vince Lombardi.

Actually no matter if someone doesn’t know then its up to other people that they will assist, so here it takes place.

Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the net the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

Howdy would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

Hey! I realize this is kind of off-topic but I needed to ask. Does managing a well-established website like yours take a lot of work? I am brand new to blogging but I do write in my diary on a daily basis. I’d like to start a blog so I will be able to share my personal experience and views online. Please let me know if you have any ideas or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers. Appreciate it!

I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and amusing, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The issue is something that too few men and women are speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy that I stumbled across this in my hunt for something concerning this.

When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Many thanks!
