our weekend

Hello friends!  Not sure why, but I feel like it’s been a long time since we’ve spoke.  I’ve slowed my blog reading, so I know that’s got me missing y’all.  And I’ve also slowed my posting … both of which, I have to admit, has been somewhat liberating!

Anyway … I wanted to check in and share some photos of our weekend playground.  Right at this moment {an ungodly hour Monday morning}, we’re on a flight home … actually, a connecting flight to our main flight home … details, details.

So yeah.  We spent our weekend in a houseboat, on Lake Powell, in Page, Arizona.  No phone.  No internet.  No twitter.  No facebook.  No email.  Well … ‘cept for the few times I cheated and used CJ’s crazy satellite system.

It was gorgeous country!!  Quiet.  Serene.  Beautiful.

I think my favorite thing was jet-skiing.  We packed lunches and found hidden spots around the lake to explore.  There was something so incredible about having one the girls behind me, holding on tightly … watching CJ with 2 of the other girls as we sped around the lake and explored.

Once again … only downside to this vacay was missing my Tay-Tay.  I let her visit a friend in Maine and forgo this trip with us.  I know she’s having a blast, so that makes my heart happy.

Oh! and I have to mention … CJ was our captain and fully enjoyed being called captain … who knew!? ;)

that fire looks identical to the one that we (he) built for us that memorial day 100 years ago when he flew us on the seaplane & got scolded by the DNR :) seriously, looks like long overdue and well deserved family time for all of you!!!

oh… forgot to mention that the fire really isn’t comparable considering we used sticks the size of our fingers that only ants could enjoy.
