here we go again …
The teen has been riding horses for the last 14ish years. Which means … I’ve spent years and years in a barn. All kinds of barns. As a side note, I also spent quite a bit of sweat equity getting this barn up and running. In fact, I’m still the “webmaster” over there at that site. I use the term loosely, cuz it’s more like I’m the upper-dater-of-information.
Anyway.
After being absent from a barn for a while — given the fact that Taylor’s now old enough to get herself to and take care of herself at the barn — guess where I’ve been spending my time lately?
Wynter’s got the riding bug BAD! She counts down the days ’til her next lesson and would spend all day there if I let her!
She’s recently learned how to canter off the lead line … she was nervous to first learn, but now she’s loving it! Next up? Jumping!

And I’m thinking I should probably start collecting since I have a feeling I’ll be seeing this view of Wynter {right} very often in my future!
I grew up with horses, but we rode western (maybe it’s a “West Coast” thing). I can remember the first time I sat in an English saddle and began to trot…I thought I was going to fly off that horse! Ha!

they ride western at her barn too! and i TOTALLY agree … i need that big ol’ “horn” to make me feel safe in a saddle!

How sweet it is……..We are on the same page my friend. Alli is now taking over where Katie is leaving off, sad for Katie to “give up” Lagaz, but to see the look on Alli’s face when she is out at the barn is so sweet. Those little tushies are so darn cute in breeches:)
