just sayin’ …

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen,
but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be famines and EARTHQUAKES in various places.

Matthew 24:6-7 {NIV}

January 3 – Solomon Islands
January 5 – Costa Rica
January 10 – Humboldt County, California
January 12 – Haiti
January 19 – Cayman Islands
January 24 – Gaua {volcanic eruption}
January 26 – Ryukyu Islands, Japan
January 27 – Maule, Chile
February 5 – Montserrat, Caribbean Sea
February 27 – Salta, Argentina
March 4 – Taiwan
March 5 – Island of Sumatra
March 8 – Turkey
March 11 – Pichilemu, Chile
March 14 – Indonesia
March 14 – Japan
March 16 – California
March 21, Cuba
March 21 – Iceland {volcanic eruption}
March 25 – Manila, Philippines
April 4 – Baja California, Mexico
April 6 – Indonesia
April 11 – Solomon Islands
April 11 – Spain
April 13 – China
April 15 – Utah
April 26 – Taiwan

And I didn’t include the smaller earthquakes.  Just the ones listed as significant.  So far in 2010, there have been 225,420 deaths due to earthquakes.  I urge you to take a few minutes and explore the USGS Earthquake area.  It sure amazed me.

And boy … I gotta admit … I feel a little tentative posting this, but I feel the Lord led me share it with you.  Actually, a while ago … but I’ve been disobedient for fear of being criticized.  But fear no more …

There you have it folks … now don’t go sayin’ you weren’t warned! ;)

    Hi! I just happened upon your blog. I love it! It is so serene. What a great post. I think a lot of believers would be afraid to post something like this. It definitely needs to be talked about and you have shared so boldly but in a way that is not overbearing or off-turning. Bless you for being obedient!

    My husband and I have been watching this same earthquake site for several months now…it seems like so much is going on in the world right now, it makes you wonder if it truly is getting close to the end!

    Chris has been following the earthquakes as well very closely. I think he checks that site 4 times a day!

    Good article commenting on frequency and location of quakes http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/04/15/eveningnews/main6400625.shtml

    It may also be important to note that the earth has many “negative feedback loops”, which essentially serve to maintain it’s status quo. For instance, a large quake in one part of the world (which is caused by movement of a tectonic plate) may cause shifting of surrounding plates as the earth’s “skin” “readjusts”.

    Two cents from the Earth Scientist. ;-)

    I knew there had been several this year but truly had no idea of just how many! As I was checking out the site I saw that the day after you posted this there was a 7.2 quake in Indonesia.

    So interesting…you know we just had two in the month of April – in TENNESSEE – I know, strange! They were very small, but frightening still….
