We’re blessed to live on a fairly large piece of property. Property that the girls love to explore and explore and explore and explore!
And they were out last weekend doing just that … when they happened upon a little thing we’ll call toad-mating-season. Yes! you read right … toad.mating.season!
CJ snapped these pics with his phone and quickly sent them to me. The first photo on the left are eggs. Toad eggs. Hundreds. Of toad eggs. And the girls are holding them.
And um, yeah. Piper sure is holding a pair of mating toads … but what’s a mom to do … besides blog about it? ;)

oh that bare bottom made me giggle. yes, i am 38 going on 7? but i love the way you tell a story… any story. okay. every story. these girls of yours… they are beautiful- even holding mating toads! and i love the freedom and the life i feel over here at your little spot in the world.

I absolutely adore how your girls are never afraid to get out and experience nature — so many other kids would be intimidated or squeamish! You and cj should be applauded for instilling that sense of adventure in them! :-)
Oh I wish we lived closer. My girls could use a little exploring and getting their hands, feet, etc. in the mud. :-)

You have cute girls, my daughter is much the same way, as there is no one around, if they want to chase toads, it makes sense for them to take off their shoes, socks, jeans and undies and go after them, my daughter has done the same on occasion, sweet future biologists!
