A week ago today, Taylor and I were sitting in the airport taking this photo … on our way to the Big Apple!

It was freezing last weekend! And … being the responsible teen that she is, even after repeated reminders from me … she forgot a jacket.
Think it was on purpose to get this new one?
Moleskine’s being sold outside of Central Park. Tay was super annoyed happy when I took this photo.
And she was super annoyed happy when I asked her to take my photo.
And she was even more super annoyed happy when I asked her to take a carriage ride with me. Too bad I don’t have a photo of us snuggling in the blanket in the carriage. ;)
And just a heads up … if you take a teenager on a trip, this is probably what they’ll be doing most of the time …

With the promise of a visit to Urban Outfitters, I think I finally got her to smile for this.
Oh! and take this!
No visit to NYC with a teenager would be complete without a trip to SoHo …
And … our beautiful hotel room! Even Tay was impressed {and that doesn’t happen easily}.
Last Saturday was Sweetest Day. CJ and I don’t usually recognize the holiday, so I was super surprised {and happy!} when a huge box of goodies were delivered for Taylor & I. She got a bunch of candy and goodies … and I got a bag with the sweetest card ever and this awesome pillow with my girls silhouettes on it! I had even blogged about it back in the day! ;)
And this, my friends, is the teenagers untouched homework.
Even though there was a bit of sarcasm here … we had a really great time. Really great.
I really enjoy alone time with Taylor, and I also think it’s important for her.
Her sisters are {starting at} 7 years younger than she is … and all aged together, so they play with each other and have similar interests, etc. Or bedtime, or reading time.
And then there’s Taylor.
Because of the age difference, she’s just sort of out there on her own. Does that make sense?
Anyway … I so enjoyed this time with her. We laughed, shopped, watched some movies … it was good for our souls.
She was thankful and thought I was the best mom ever.
That was, of course, until we got home and she was grounded for not doing her homework. ;)
