when your iphone takes a swim

Mamas don’t let your babies play with your iPhones {you kinda have to sing this to the Willy Nelson tune}. Roll video please …

Soooo … we were at the beach a couple weekends ago when in come the girls with a deer-in-headlights look on their faces.

“Hunter dropped your phone in the pool.”

Oh boy!

It still looked like it was working. And for the most part it was. Some tricky things here and there with the sound, but everything else was basically working fine.

End of story.

Or was it? I really never got any other details, other than “Hunter dropped your phone in the pool.” The girls had a couple of friends along and I could feel the tension of the girls waiting to see how I could react. All eyes were on me … but …

Cool as a cucumber I was! And kinda proud of it too! :)

Anyway … I couldn’t believe my luck when I was downloading the thousands of photos/videos they’d taken and saw this video!

Are you curious about “poopsalot?” Let me fill you in … there were birds landing in the pool and … well … they were … pooping a lots. Hence, they received the names of Poopsalot.

And the classic moment, “Don’t drop that phone in there.” “I’m not!” And then “Slpooosh, garble, garble.”

Never a dull moment ’round here … never a dull moment!

Happy weekend y’all … don’t know ’bout you, but I’ll be eating cake with a certain ten-year-old birthday girl!

{if you’re reading from an RSS feed, please hop over to my website to view the video … I promise you … it’s priceless!}

Well done you for reacting so well :) That video is priceless! (and given that it’s not my phone I can comfortably say well worth the swim)

That was cute, funny and scary all at the same time! Love it. Agreed, well done for staying calm – not sure I would have done the same ;o)

Well, at least it was your daughter that dropped yours. I learned my lesson the hard way myself and had nobody to blame but myself last year when having a conversation with a PTO member on the phone while snapping the covers on the pontoon boat and I was leaning over the side to reach a snap and in went the phone. Luckily I was tied up to the pier and I made my son jump in right away and fish it out of the weeds for me ( I wasn’t jumping in the weeds, that was for sure) and it worked for about 3 days and then it died. Never again will I talk on the phone while hanging over the side of the boat. I pray that all of the functions on your phone come back. But unlike me, you probably have insurance on that things anyways. Funny video. I had to show my kids.

Super glad it survived its plunge into the deep blue water! LOVE that you found this video & were able to see what preceded it’s fall – priceless footage! Who rescued it? Based on the elapsed time it doesn’t seem like it was in the water too long….

Oh no! I would be terrified if someone dropped my iPhone in the water! You handled it very well and very calmly! (I would have freaked out immediatly, lol) The video is priceless really! I love that the other girls yell “Don’t drop that phone” and then she says back “I’m not”! So funny! Happy weekend and Happy Birthday to Piper!

that was funny!! I was already laughing at “poopsalot!!..poopsalot!!…” (mostly sympathy because my 5 year old is for some reason obsessed with calling everything poopy these days), and then “dont drop the phone..” “I am not!” ……PLUNK!! LOL can’t believe it kept all the video!
