cheering teen …

My girl’s a cheerleader.  Who would’ve thought?

When she signed up for this and tried out … I don’t think she realized how much she’d enjoy it and want to be a part of it.  Honestly, I didn’t realize how much she’d enjoy it and want to be a part of it!

When I went to see her at her first game, she’d mouth to me “stoooppp!!”  As in, stop looking at her.  My parents came with and at one point we told my dad she doesn’t want us to look at her, my dad says {all confused like}, “but she’s the reason I’m here.”  Cute!

So you see this shot of her?  This is what she’d do when I’d try to take a photo of her.  And the Eagle?  Mascot.

For Taylor’s second game, they played against her old school.  It was so surreal sitting on the “opposite” side and cheering against “our” school.  {I sat on the Eagles side}.

I brought the little girls all with, and they had a blast playing with all their older school “buddies.”  Their school has a buddy system where they get paired up with older kids in the school and do various activities and field trips throughout the year with them.

Anyway.  It was a great babysitting system for me!

So I’m sitting there cheering for my new school, while watching my friends across the gym cheering for my old school.  Surreal.

But fun.  And Tay loved it!

Here’s a clip I took at her first home game.  She’s a “flyer” … which she really enjoys.  During practice, she’s been tossed many times on her bottom & her head.  Comes home with a headache and in pain … but goes back the next day for more. :)

In the clip, she’s sort of in the middle of the screen and then when they go to do the stunt, she’s the flyer on the far left of the screen.

I’m so proud of her and I love watching her!  Most important … I love seeing her excited about something.

Oh, how fun!!! If she ends up cheering at another game in the area, please let me know! Meg would LOOOOOVVVVVEEEE to watch her — since she’s learning all of that stuff in her cheer class right now! Tay did a great job — and what a beauty she is!

I remember the days of being a cheerleader and acting all put out and annoyed with my family when they’d come watch me cheer. Of course, deep down, I was thrilled they were there :-)

I have a photography question after looking at these awesome photos. How did you get these pics to not turn out all green looking from the flouresent lights? Everytime I take pics of my boys basketball games, the have a green cast to them. So frustrating.
    Merry Christmas!
