friends in unexpected places

I shouldn’t be … but am.  Constantly amazed at just how big, and small … the blog world can be.

I’ve made a new friend … who I’ve never even met.  Weird, isn’t it?  Or is it?

The gift I’d like to unwrap for you today, is finding … no, accepting … friends in unexpected places.  I mean, seriously, who couldn’t use an extra friendship in their world?

Cyndi found my blog and left a few comments … then I started following her blog and left a few comments.  Then we started following each other on twitter … and well, the rest is history.

One of Cyndi’s recent tweets asked for some advice … I answered and helped her out and look what she sent me as a thank you!!

I was shocked!  And surprised!  And happy … y’all know I love a present!

I promise the moral of this post isn’t that you’ll get gifts by befriending peeps in the blog world …

Well … actually, scratch that.  That’s exactly the moral of this post.

You’ll receive the untold gift of … friendship.

It is so hard to explain to my friends and family that don’t know anything about the blog world to explain the friendships that are formed here. It really is amazing. I am so glad I found your blog today. I can’t wait to explore it more.

I talk about my blog friends and my daughter asked if I actually know them…and in many cases I can answer…yes. Real friends are found in blogland. great gift to unwrap!

Oh how neat!! One of the things I pray for every morning with my son before he heads out the door to school is that we would be a friend to those who may not have a friend and a helper to those who need help. Some days are just easier to do this than others. Thanks for sharing this on your blog!

I have tears running down my face reading your sweet words. I used to find it weird/awkward to talk about my blogging buds because there are a lot of people that just don’t get it. Now instead of referring to them as “blogging friends” I just call them friends. I never would have thought that you could get to know someone via the blogosphere well enough to consider them a friend until I met Erin (Blue Eyed Bride), Lindsey (Great Full Day), Darci (Life @ the White House), and YOU. I truly believe there are some people that are just meant to be in our lives and you are definitely one of them for me. Your posts always make me think or feel something unexpected, and I feel so blessed to have stumbled upon your blog.

I am thrilled that your box of treats brought a smile to your face! You do so much for others and it was the least I could do for you. Unexpected treats are the best!

Cyndi is the best! I count myself fortunate to have “met” both of you through the blogosphere. Coffee one day, right?

I love Cyndi! She’s an absolute sweetheart! When I lost a friend unexpectedly, she sent me the best print. Her posts always make me think more positively, too.

That is the cutest little box of goodies ever! what a sweet surprise! And except for the fact that we never actually get to see each other, having “computer friends” (as jack calls mine) is the best!
