geologist, not a singer!

Wynter tends to walk on the drama side of life!  And quite honestly, she’s got a beautiful singing voice … alright, alright … I’m her mom, but still!

Anyway … I try to encourage her to use those talents when she can and sometimes tell her maybe she’ll be a singer some day.  To which she replies, “I want to be a geologist, not a singer!”  Maybe a singing geologist then? ;)

Last Christmas the girls joined our church’s Kingdom Kids Choir and sang in the musical “Back to the Manger.”  They had parts in the chorus and it was an incredible production … alright, alright … I’m their mom, but still!  ;)

Okay, here’s a clip of Wynter singing part of one of the songs in the production {we were sitting in the audience of Hunter’s dance recital}.  And below this clip is a clip of one of the songs during dress rehearsal.  {Piper & Wynter are to the left of the microphone in the middle of the chorus}.

Cute, huh?  Well … it’s time for the Spring musical and this year they’re doing “Jailhouse Rock.”  But I assure you, Elvis has left the building!  It actually has some really neat learning points about different people in the Bible and being freed from prison {we’re only up to listening/practicing song five in the car, so there may be some other learning points in there as well!}.

And … the point of my post is that Wynter tried out last week for a part in the production!!  I am SO incredibly proud of her!  We don’t know if she made it yet or not, and honestly {as I told her} it totally doesn’t matter if she’s picked … I’m just so proud that she tried out!  Fingers crossed anyway, right?!

OH! and did I mention … my future singer geologist is joining the chess club at school?

Go Wynter!!! It is very brave to try out!!! And chess club? That’s a tough game!

I know that Wynter will be awesome at whatever she chooses to do!!! Being the first singing geologist would be pretty cool! :-)

She does indeed have a beautiful voice and so does her mommy. Hey maybe the two of you can sing together? She will be very good at chess, such a little go getter!!!

I co- directed this same musical at my church this past Christmas! I loved that song “Back to the Manger” as well as the others. We must not forget Grandma Betty’s famous phrase ” Holy Guacamole!” Very powerful and fun musical. Your little one does have a beautiful voice and keep encouraging her to use her God given talents.

So, it was bugging me at first – who is talking during the musical? But then I realized this was during the dress rehearsal – OK you said that, but I missed it. I’m proud of Wynter – she’s so brave!
