i am thankful …

These four ladies drive me insane.  They exhaust me.  They drain my energy.  They frustrate me.  They challenge me.

But I don’t know how I’d live life without them.

They love me.  They fulfill me.  They sustain me.  They bless me.

This Thanksgiving day … I want to document how very. very. thankful I am, to have been blessed with these four incredible miracles.

They make every day worth living.

If it sounds like I’m being a bit over the top … it’s because I am.  I am over the top thankful for these special little ladies.

Let me tell you a bit about miss Piper.  Piper Sage.

She is the most caring creature you’ll ever want to know.  Last night, I was having a bit of an emotional time … not feeling well, mixed in with “that time of the month” or “dot” as Taylor calls it … equaled too many tears.  I don’t usually like to cry in front of the kids, but for some reason last night, I couldn’t help myself.

I got them dinner and told them I was going to lay down for a few minutes.  Piper slowly came into my room and covered me with love.  Then Wynter.  And Wynter explained that Piper told her to come and love me.  Then Hunter.  And Hunter explained Piper sent her too.

Piper hugged me and loved me all night making sure I was okay.

Her famous line is, “you okay daddy?”  She knows … she feels … when something’s up.

I’ve said before, but she has the most soulful eyes.  When she’s sick, tired, happy, sad … you can see it in her eyes.

Piper, you are a blessing to daddy & I … and all those around you.

Oh and here we have miss teenager.  Taylor Rio.

Tay, you’ve been through so much in your short life.  I’m crying as I’m thinking about it.  A child of divorce when you were just 3 years old.  A new step-father, new sisters, multiple moves and houses.  Going back and forth between homes.  Challenges at school and with friends.  Now a new school and new friends.

I know things can get you down and overwhelm you at times, but I think you have handled your challenges with grace and strength.  I pray you continue to seek God in your life and continue to stand firm on the values you’ve begun to develop.

I love you Tay-Tay and am so extremely proud of you.

Wynter.  Wynter Jett.

Smiling just thinking of this one.  She’s a spitfire.  A drama queen.  A tactile and clumsy kid.

Ever since she was a toddler, she’d grab your hand as she lay in her crib … and breathe it in … she couldn’t get enough of it.  She still does that.  She often sleeps with a watch or scarf of mine … just to have a hold of something that she can feel close.

She loves her big sister, Piper … something fierce.  Piper seems to be an extension of her.

Wynter is smart, organized, responsible … and a little bundle of love.

I love you Wynt … and can’t wait to see you continue to grow into a wonderful young lady.

And lastly … my baby.  Hunter.  Hunter Rose.  Named after her granny Rose.

This child is a delight.  An absolute delight.  Even Taylor says, “how can she be so adorable?”

When she hugs you, she hugs you tight … she throws one arm around your neck and squeezes you like a vice-grip.

She’s got the sweetest little baby voice.

She’s a bit of a loner, as her sisters don’t often include her in their games.

She’s grounded from markers right now, but bribed a few from me moments ago with a kiss.

This last little blessing has filled my heart so completely and fully.

I love you baby … with all my heart, I love you.

God truly has a plan, doesn’t He?  I never in a million years thought I would be the proud mommy to four beautiful girls.  These girls {admittedly, I’m biased} are easy on the eyes … but they’re also easy on the heart.  They are beautiful children on the inside.

I pray everyday that continues.  I pray God works in wonderful, wonderful ways inside of them.  I pray He gives me the wisdom, strength and perseverance to help them continue to grow into the people He’s created them to be.

There is no greater honor in my life than to raise His daughters … for Him.
