my birthday party!

You know the spoiled freak that ends up with birthday “week” or “month.”  Yeah, that’s me.

For some reason, my birthday has started early the last few years.  The hubs goes hunting every year, so instead of being a widower stuck in drab Wisconsin, I grab some of my besties and head to Exuma for the weekend.

Being the awesome friends they are … they like to have a little birthday celebration for me while we’re there.  Thank you besties!

And then we come home and it’s usually my real birthday …

And then we sometimes have a party or get together … so I guess I’m lucky enough to have birthday “weeks” …

Anyway … just wanted to share some photos from the party we had last week.

Actually … first want to mention … while CJ and I knew this was a “birthday party” for me … I really didn’t want others to know.  In fact, I held off and held off even inviting people.  I just wasn’t in a celebrating mood for some reason.  Not celebrating my birthday … I’m always down with that.

It’s more maybe being “up” … it’s been harder and harder for me.  I mentioned it in a few posts ago … just harder for me to have a conversation or something.  Hard to explain … just something going on in my head, in the way I’m processing things.

Anyway … the theme of our party was that it was a fondue party.  So I invited people to our fondue party.  Not my birthday party.

Then CJ goes and gets me a cake like this!!

Yes folks … it’s a cake!  Thank you Alice …and thank you CJ!

Is that not amazing?!?

Lastly, here are some images from the set-up {catering by Gracious Events}.

We had an awesome idea to have this fondue party.  Fondue pots set up around the house with their own flavors & food.  It was so cool!

And in the end, I had a great time celebrating with everyone and am glad we did it.

I see nothing wrong with being the Birthday Princess for a week . . . or a month. And Lisa’s right, we do celebrate you every day. ‘Cause you’re awesome. :-) I enjoyed ALL of the celebrations!!

What an amazing cake! So perfect for you :-) The food looked incredible and the flowers are gorgeous! (Couldn’t help but give a shout out about the flowers since you have my faves – gerbera daisies.)

So glad you had a great birthday week! I love birthdays and think it’s great when people truly do celebrate for a week (or more!)
