the drumroll please …

Alrighty then.

This, my friends, is what they were supposed to be for Halloween.

What is it you ask?  An eyeball.

Eyeball costumes.  Yeah.

Did you see what we were last year?

So yeah, this is totally CJ’s thing.  He comes up with the idea, measures the kids, and sends everything out to his secret costume maker.

And the girls were totally down with it.  Well … two of them anyway.

So this is what my crew looked like for trick or treating.

It was COLD!  We had to go warmth.

The kids were tired, cranky.  I The kids had a few meltdowns before we even left the house.

Anyway.  I didn’t care … we decided to go for warmth … so the “baby” didn’t even dress in her costume.  Plus, remember she’s broken wing right now …

But here’s what the full costume’s looked like …

Pretty cool, huh?

And that fuzz on the top of the eyeball?  Eyelashes.

And here’s my princess.  She had pretty much warned us she wouldn’t be caught dead in an eyeball costume …

In fact, someone at school mentioned to me, they remember her saying last year {when we forced her in the candy corn costume} that she wanted to be a princess.

Anyway.  She’s been saying and saying that she wanted to be a princess this year.  I ordered a costume just in case … but kept trying to get her into the eyeball.  At the last hour when I realized she absolutely wasn’t getting into the eyeball costume { McLeod Brock announced not to mention the logistics of a broken arm, balance, etc}, I pulled out the princess costume.

Oh.my.word!  This child seriously thought she reigned supreme!  Beaming from ear-to-ear!

Here she is in her classroom before the school’s costume parade.

I’ll be posting more images from their parade and trick or treating … but wanted to share these with you for now.

Classic. I love unique costumes – have to say this ranks right up there with the most creative. It’s amazing how kids can look cute in anything
