sure!

What’s your parenting style?  Do you reserve your “no’s” for when you really need them?  Do you say yes more than you say no?  Do you think before you say no?

The other day the girls asked if they could color their hair.  With markers.

I thought a minute and answered, “sure!”

When my girls are grown and gone … those are the moments I want them to remember.  In the midst of the morning chaos, mom took 5 minutes to slow time and make memories.

You are such a fabulous mom! Love that you took the time to think it through and didn’t say NO to this one. Something for me to think about today! :)

I’m with Heather. Hopefully I remember this when the girls are with us next time. It’s not my strong suit…at all.

What a wonderful post and such a wonderful mom to let them do that. Someday when they are all grown up and sitting at your house for dinner (these are the beautiful memories they will be laughing and sharing with you)

This is so true. I always have to remember let my no mean no and my yes mean yes. I catch myself being quick to say no. Thanks for the reminder. Love it.

you’re perfect for this mom business. =)
i say a lot of no’s but i have my yes’s….if you ask my daughter though, my fave answers are my maybe’s. she’s even gotten to the point where she’ll jump up and down for the maybe’s. not cause i’m a pushover, but she’d rather hear maybe rather than a no straight-out-the-gate.
seriously cool with the markers! the closest we got to that was mom telling us how to lemon-juice our hair or us self-dying with kool-aid.
